The Simson Desert is between NT, SA and QLD.
The
climate the Simpson Desert is very hot during the day and
cold at
night.

of inland Australia and gas harvesting that takes gas out of
the ground

The Simpson
Desert is unique because it is one of few or non
other deserts that have a
large lake that runs through it and many small
springs throughout it.
The Wangkangurru people lived in the
Simpson Desert, ranging over
the southern desert in good seasons and
falling back on a series of native wells
or Mikiri when the country dried
out. The Wangkangurru left the desert
voluntarily in 1901 and walked south
to the Bethesda Lutheran Mission at
Killalpaninna.
The Simpson Desert receives
less than 400 millilitres of rain
every year.
In the Simpson Desert some of the
features
are:

Dalhousie Springs,
which are natural hot springs
·
Kaliduwarry
Waterhole,
a plentiful supply of water which stretches for some 30
kilometres
Chambers Pillar,
a 50m sandstone pillar rising up from the desert plain

the rippling sand dunes - there are over 1100 sand dunes all running parallel in a
north-south
direction
